About this experience
Description
A semi-private cruise, limited to 22 guests, to one of the southernmost points of Europe. Chrissi, the "Golden Island", also known as Donkey Island, lies nine miles off Ierapetra in the Libyan Sea. It is protected under Natura 2000 and designated a wildlife refuge, and it looks like nowhere else in Crete: a rare cedar forest, white sand dunes, shallow golden beaches and water in almost tropical colours.
After the transfer to Ierapetra you board a Mediterranean-style boat and sail to the island, where you spend around four hours and stop at two different beaches. Swim, snorkel, relax on the sand or take a long walk along the shore, covered in millions of tiny coloured shells.
On board the crew serves lunch, shrimp orzo with a wide selection of Cretan appetizers, together with unlimited water, soft drinks, wine and fresh fruit. It is a perfect day out for couples and families alike.

- Return to Ierapetra port and drive back, arriving approximately 18:30 – 19:30

Duration: approximately 11 hours in total, of which about 6 hours on the boat trip
Should take: Swimsuit, towel, hat, sunscreen, beachwear, snorkelling equipment if you have it, camera, cash for extra expenses.
Children: 0 – 2 years free of charge. Children from 3 years pay the full price on this excursion.
Extra cost on the day: environmental tax of 1€ per person, paid at Ierapetra port.
Good to know: The trip is not recommended for guests with mobility difficulties or those prone to sea sickness. Pets, non-folding strollers and electric wheelchairs are not allowed. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. For safety reasons the captain may change the route and the schedule of the boat trip at any time.
