About this experience
Description
An authentic day at sea for anyone who loves fishing, or simply loves being on the water. Board a traditional fishing boat with a local fisherman in the small port of Elounda and head out into the clear waters of Mirabello Bay. The boat sails alongside the famous island of Spinalonga and then on to deeper water, where the crew will show you how sea fishing is really done and introduce you to the marine life of the area.
There is plenty of time to swim, dive, snorkel or just relax on deck in the sun. Meanwhile the friendly family crew prepares a spread of local flavours: salads, savoury meze, fresh fruit and home-made cake, served with soft drinks and locally produced white wine.
The group is kept small, which makes this one of the most relaxed and personal boat trips you can take during your holidays in Crete.
Programme
- Pick-up from your nearest pick-up point
- Departure by boat from the small port of Elounda
- Cruise past Spinalonga to the open waters of Mirabello Bay
- Fishing, swimming and snorkelling stops; snacks and drinks on board
- Return to Elounda and drive back, arriving approximately 15:00 – 15:30

Duration: approximately 6 hours
Should take: Swimsuit, towel, hat, sunscreen, beachwear, snorkelling equipment if you have it, camera, cash for extra expenses.
Children: 0 – 2 years free of charge. Children from 3 years pay the full price on this excursion.
Good to know: The trip is not recommended for guests with mobility difficulties or those prone to sea sickness. Pets, non-folding strollers and electric wheelchairs are not allowed. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. For safety reasons the captain may change the route and the schedule of the boat trip at any time.
