Artemis House

Artemis’ House is a traditional stone-built house that offers a romantic hideaway with spectacular Mountain views. After many years standing empty it has been restored with loving care and traditional methods to provide a comfortable and charming retreat looking over Aptera village in North West Crete and up to the White Mountains. Its large veranda has a low wall and a mature mulberry tree which provides ample shade at this lovely cottage.

The tavernas in the Aptera village square are 1/2 mile away. The stunning sandy beach at Blue Beach is around 4 miles away, with further shops and amenities a mile beyond this in the lovely small town of Kalives with more sandy beaches.

House Keys
The keys to your property should be in the door or if not, look in the large plant pot next to the door.
Warning: Self Locking Doors - Avoid Getting Locked Out!
Most of the front doors of Cretan properties do not have outside door handles and they are ‘self locking’. It is very easy for the door to swing closed behind you as you step outside and to find yourself locked out. Leave the key in the outside of the lock, or in an outside plant pot or similar, when you arrive at the property and anytime you are outside around the property (e.g. unloading the car, sitting on the terrace etc).
